Some of you have read my "Stupid Statement" posts over on my reluctant leader site. Some of you have even submitted some SS's that you have heard or read.

And the winner is...

Some news show featured a short clip from the Miss Teen USA Pageant tonight that almost seems like a spoof.

During the Q&A part of the pageant, one contestant forgot to say, "World Peace" and actually tried to answer the question.

Big mistake.

I usually try to end my Stupid Statement blogs with some type of leadership lesson or application. Not this time. Because I don't have a map. Of South Africa. Or Iraq.

that is very funny! but "in fairness" (can't use this anymore without cringing), it's not easy to be up there in front of the people, bright lights on your face, tv cameras, pressure of winning..

I think the lesson here for discipleship is try to HAVE AN ANSWER THAT'S COHERENT before you open your mouth.

I just watched the footage today and can't stop laughing. I also saw her on the today show and I'm not sure that was much better.

Based on what her ANSWER could have been and if you compare this answer to her original answer, she DOES answer the Aimee Teegarden's Question: "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is?" - because they don't understand the questions in the FIRST PLACE! :P
